Taking care of your suit

23 Apr, 2015 | Savile Row
Chances are you’re servicing your suit too often. All the best suits, including ours of course, are crafted in 100% luxury wool. Wool is a natural, living and breathing thing and dry cleaning chemicals can be brutal on the fabric. They can warp shoulders, break buttons and mat fibres – not good for your biggest wardrobe investment. Dry cleaning once or twice a year should be enough, especially if you rotate your suits, empty all the pockets after each wear and give it a quick going over with a natural bristle clothes brush.Brush in a downward motion while wearing the trousers and a jacket but brush upwards around the top or patch pockets so you don’t crease any lips. Having it occasionally steam pressed will take out any creases - or if you’re feeling lazy – hang your suit in the bathroom while you take a long hot shower. mens-suits
