How to fold a pocket square?

How to fold a square pocket square

  • Lay your pocket square on a flat surface.
  • Fold it in half and then in half again, so that you have a small square.
  • Fold the small square into a triangle.
  • Fold the left and right corners in towards the middle that your folded square fits neatly and snugly, point-downwards, into the width of your breast pocket. No slip, no bulge!
  • Adjust to display the desired strip of pocket square peeking out above the top of your pocket.

How to fold a three stair pocket square

  • Lay your pocket square on a flat surface so it looks like a diamond – one corner facing up, one corner facing down.
  • Fold the bottom corner up to meet the top corner – it should look like a triangle.
  • Fold down front face of triangle so that it goes past the bottom of the pocket square.
  • Take the same fold & fold back up towards the top of the pocket square.
  • Fold back towards the bottom of the pocket square. For a sharp look – keep the folds neat and even.
  • Fold a small fold towards the top of the pocket square. Running over it with a cool iron now may be helpful.
  • Now for the tricky part – fold the right half of the pocket square behind the left side.
  • Rotate the right hand corner of the pocket square 90 degrees. Then fold the left side to the right.
  • Fold the right side to the left and there you have it.

How to fold a puff pocket square

  • Lay your pocket square on a flat surface.
  • Fold it in half and then in half again, so that you have a small square.
  • Pinch the centre of the square between finger and thumb and lift it up.
  • Gently smooth the corners down into a cone shape and ease them into your breast pocket – to display the softly gathered centre point.

How to fold a reverse puff pocket square

  • Follow the first three instructions for a puff pocket square.
  • Gently smooth the corners into a cone shape and turn it upside down.
  • Slide the ‘cone’ point-first into your breast pocket – to display a casual profusion of impeccably hand-rolled edges.
