With spring now in full flow, it’s the perfect time for a city getaway. Below, we’ve created a guide on where you should go and what you’ll want to take.

New York
Much like the UK, New York endures pretty much all types of weather. To prepare for such changeable conditions, we suggest improving your layering game; classic pieces like a V-neck jumper, button-down shirt, jacket and chinos are a must. To keep the weight of your luggage down, remember to only pack items that have a multi-faceted use – those which can be worn with the other items you are taking.

Barcelona
Whilst nothing is guaranteed, Barcelona (damn them) usually enjoys pretty warm late-spring weather, so bear this in mind when frantically packing. Laid-back linen jackets are ideal, teamed with contrasting chinos or trousers and a classic pair of loafers. For the evening, our navy linen suit and button-down shirt would make a stylish impression.

Rome
Walk the streets of this picturesque city and you’ll notice the locals tread the line between smart and casual with ease; so when in Rome (see what we did there?), we suggest keeping things simple. A timeless button-down shirt, chinos and loafers would make the perfect outfit. If the temperature drops, one of our must-own blazers will help fight the chill.

Final Word
Whilst we hope our recommendations help, the key to packing logically for a city break is to do your research beforehand. By keeping a watchful eye on the expected weather, you can then draw up a list of essentials you’ll need, and then add in anything extra if you have the space.
